Report summary

Germany does not have any LNG import terminals. However, before GATE LNG terminal in the Netherlands and the Nord Stream pipeline to Germany came online, there were several regas proposals, which have all been shelved. Germany has the infrastructure to get regasified gas from the neighbouring Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium and GATE in the Netherlands. In June 2013, German utility E.ON announced an agreement with Canadian Pieridae Energy Ltd. for 5 mmtpa to be shipped to Western Europe ...
