Global LNG - emerging markets overview 2017

Report summary

As new liquefaction projects in the US and Australia come online, plenty of LNG will become available to emerging buyers and suppliers will become more willing to offer competitive prices. More than 60 additional countries have the potential to become LNG importers by 2025 – although not all will. The emergence of new demand centres is due to a variety of reasons including to offset a decline in domestic gas supply, to displace oil products in power generation, to meet seasonal peak demand or to diversify and secure its energy mix. This report highlights potential new LNG markets, outlining the factors that are driving these markets to consider LNG imports and the potential scale of demand.
