Report summary

India is the 4th largest LNG market in the world with LNG imports reaching 19.1 mmtpa in 2016. Low LNG prices, combined with new regasification capacity and pipelines, will accelerate India's LNG demand over the next 3-5 years. The government has also introduced a number of upstream policies which are likely to bring about gas-on-gas competition between domestic gas and LNG in the longer-term.
