Thailand LNG long-term outlook 2015

Thailand LNG long-term outlook 2015

Report summary

To achieve security of supply, we have seen PTT embark on expanding the Map Ta Phut regasification terminal. This is likely to see a focus on utilising LNG to meet growing gas demand with a view to reduce dependencies on piped gas imports from Myanmar. We have also recently seen the path to liberalisation taking place with the resolution to separate PTT's pipeline assets to a separate subsidiary and the release of the third party access code.
