On 18 December 2013, NOVATEK and Total announced Final Investment Decision (FID) on a three train, 16.5 mmtpa, Yamal LNG project. Yamal LNG will be the first LNG project in Russia since Sakhalin-2 took FID in 2003, the largest LNG project sanctioned in the world in 2013 and one of the largest ever LNG developments.
