Report summaryLandlocked Chad has produced oil for just over a decade, and has ambitious targets to increase production. Nonetheless a series of disputes leading to higher revenues to the state has demonstrated that the country lacks a rule of law and is rife with corruption. Contract sanctity is weak. Security remains a risk though the Chadian army is the regional power and is expected to fend off most threats. Additionally, the frontier country lacks basic infrastructure.
