Chile risk brief

Report summary

Important above ground risks include the dominance of the state-owned oil company, ENAP, tax increases and the extended supply chain. Also, there is no access to international markets for either oil or gas; oil is sold to ENAP at reasonable prices but gas is all sold locally, much of it at a low price. Other potential issues include labour activism and environmental regulation. Chile has long been a model of economic stability, and presents an attractive investment climate.
