Report summaryAfter massive gas discoveries since 2010, Tanzania has huge future potential for LNG exports. But the political environment has not been amenable, with widespread corruption, high fiscal terms and repeatedly delayed legislative reviews. As a result, progress over an LNG facility has stalled. This is unlikely to shift in 2015, due to elections in October. There is a growing civil unrest movement, which is increasingly likely to target infrastructure associated with the gas industry post-election.
