Report summary

Serra Leste is a mine developed by Vale in its Northern Systemwith a marketable production capacity of 6 Mtpa.Costs at Serra Leste are higher than the older Serra Norte operation because of additional trucking to get the product to the rail link. Despite this, the mine's total cash cost places it very low on the global seaborne cost curve.Serra Leste produces both a lump product for domestic consumption and a sinter fines product for the export market.
