Casa Berardi (Golden Pond) Restart gold mine

Report summary

The mine is located in the Casa Berardi Township, north-eastern Quebec, straddling the Ontario border.  Casa Berardi is an underground operation that comprises the former West and East mines, separated by the Principal deposit. The plant comprises a carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit which was modified in 2016 to allow increased throughput from open pit operations. Throughput is expected to increase to 3.6kt/d following commencement of ore production from the EMCP pit. Casa Berardi produced 146koz of gold in 2016, and is expected to produce between 150 - 165koz of gold in 2017.
