Casposo is a small open pit and underground mine in San Juan province, Argentina, exploiting gold-silver epithermal vein-style mineralisation. Commercial production levels at Casposo were reached in March 2011. Mining was initially from the open pit but in 2013 operations transitioned to underground. Approximately 400-500kt of ore are processed per year using a Merrill-Crowe plant producing silver/gold dore. Troy Resources placed the operation under review in 2015, and all mining operations ceased in February 2016. However, in September 2017, operations recommenced at the Casposo mine.
