Casposo is a small open pit and underground mine in San Juan province, Argentina, exploiting gold-silver epithermal vein-style mineralisation. Commercial production levels at Casposo were reached in March 2011. Mining was initially from open pit but in 2013 operations transitioned to underground and mining finished in early 2016 due to poor economics. The operation is 49% owned by ASX listed Troy Resources and 51% by Austral Gold. Approximately 400-500kt of ore has been milled per year using the Merrill-Crowe processing system.
