Cauchari-Olaroz - Lithium brine project
Report summary
Operated by Minera Exar S.A, Cauchari-Olaroz is a lithium brine project located in Jujuy province, Argentina. A joint venture between the largest Chinese lithium producer Ganfeng Lithium and Lithium Americas, the Cauchari-Olaroz project is currently under construction. Expected to be operational by mid-2022, the project will use solar evaporation ponds and solvent extraction to produce up to 40ktpy of technical and battery grade lithium carbonate.
