Detour Lake, is located approximately 300km northeast of Timmins, in Ontario. The original Detour Lake open pit mine was operated by Placer Dome between 1983 and 1999. Detour Gold acquired the property in 2007, following a 27 month construction period and commercial production was declared in September 2013. In addition to the Detour Lake Pit, the Company has also incorporated the West Detour Pit which is currently being permitted and the North Pit into the proposed mine plan. In January 2020, the mine was acquired by Kirkland Lake Gold. Production for the year totaled 517koz.
