Escobal zinc mine

Escobal zinc mine

Report summary

The Escobal project consists of three exploration concessions, Oasis, Lucero and Andres covering 129km2. Exploration work following the completion of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) completed in November 2010 added a significant tonnage of high grade resources to the Escobal mineral inventory. This prompted an update to the PEA in May 2012 which outlined the cases for an increase in mine production to 4,500t/d and 5,500t/d compared with the first report.
