Global graphite short-term outlook May 2023

The graphite market has remained sluggish in May, with prices continuing to fall across the flake size spectrum. There is little evidence yet that inventory through the battery anode supply chain is thinning and that companies may be beginning to increase their orders. The steel industry is similarly slow. However, the outlook remains positive as anode producers continue to expand capacity and secure material from developing mines.
