Commodity Market Report
Global lead short-term outlook October 2020
Report summary
Lead lagged well behind the base metals pack and was alone in losing value across the month. General gloom descended on the lead market and pulled down on the price. Funds increased their lead short positions, adding downwards price pressure, while other more fancied metals gained value. This was despite indicators of a tightening market for supply. Large warrant cancellations appeared in LME stocks and TCs were held down as potential further mine disruption worries smelters.
