Report summary
Uncertainty prompted investors to take profits this month and the zinc price slid from $3039/t at the end of July to a monthly low of $2939/t. However, sentiment turned, encouraged by the progress of the planned stimulus package in the US and signals from the US Federal Reserve that it is unlikely to begin reining in its support of the US economy until around the end of the year. The price advanced to end the month just above $3000/t.
