Report summary

Marandoo is part of Rio Tinto's wholly owned Hamersley group of operations located 37 kilometres east of Tom Price and 77 kilometres north east of Paraburdoo. The mine is located in an environmentally sensitive region bounded on three sides by the Karijini National Park. It is a mid sized mine producing 16Mtpa. Costs at Marandoo are higher than other Rio Tinto mines because it is operating below the water table and uses wet processing.
