Report summary

Paraburdoo is part of Rio Tinto's wholly owned Hamersley group of operations, located 58 kilometres west of Tom Price. Paraburdoo, Channar and Eastern Range are collectively known as the Greater Paraburdoo Operations (GPO). Paraburdoo's capacity has been expanded from 2.5Mtpa to 8Mtpa as part of Rio Tinto's 360Mtpa expansion. It is one of Rio Tinto's highest cost Australian iron ore mines owing to its high strip ratio and complex fines processing.
