Iron Valley iron ore mine

Report summary

Iron Valley is a small direct-shipping-ore (DSO) mine in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It produces 6 Mtpa of iron ore that is trucked to Port Hedland for export. The mine is owned by BC Iron but all mining, processing and transport of ore is undertaken by Mineral Resources. Capacity expansions at the mine are dependent on whether the proposed Bulk Ore Transport System and fines beneficiation plant proceed. If these projects go ahead then production capacity could increase to as much as (BOSS) 16 Mtpa. BCI Iron is exiting iron ore and Iron Valley will be sold.
