Jinchengjiang Chengyuan zinc smelter
Report summary
The Jinchengjiang Chengyuan smelter began operations in 1996 and is privately owned but operated by Chengyuan Mining & Smelting Co. Ltd. The site is primarily a lead smelting site based around a 60kt/a capacity lead blast furnace. The zinc smelter has a capacity of 14kt/a and was originally based around the processing of the lead blast furnace slag using Waelz kilns. In 2008, a slag fuming unit was installed at the lead blast furnace, enabling the processing of liquid slag.
