Asset Report
Kittilä (Suurikuusikko) gold mine
Report summary
Kittila is one of the largest primary gold mines in Europe. Production is currently from the underground mine following depletion of the open-pit mine in 2012. Ore is refractory and is treated by crushing and grinding, flotation and pressure oxidation followed by cyanide leaching in a carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit to produce doré on site. In 2021, the mine produced 239koz of gold. Mine life is estimated until 2035 to fully deplete existing reserves.
