Report summary

Fabrica Nova is a mid-sized surface mine and part of Vale's Mariana complex, ultimately falling under Vale's Southeastern System operations. The mine is located in Brazil's Quadrilátero Ferrífero (QF) region and approximately 8 kilometres north-east of the town of Mariana. Fabrica Nova has decreasing raw ore grades, leading to greater tonnes of raw ore needed per tonne of product. This causes the operation to have comparatively high processing costs.
