Report summary
The mine is located within the town of Waihi, 150 kilometres southeast of Auckland, New Zealand. Martha open pit operations are currently suspended following a ramp failure in 2015. Underground mining has been from the Favona, Trio and Correnso deposits and is transitioning into the Martha underground mine in 2021. No further ore will be extracted from Correnso, with current work limited to backfilling in line with consent conditions. High grade gold-silver mineralisation occurs in narrow epithermal quartz-adularia veins.
