Report summary
The mine is located within the town of Waihi, 150 kilometres southeast of Auckland, New Zealand. Martha open pit operations are currently suspended following a ramp failure in 2015. Underground mining has been from the Favona, Trio and Correnso deposits and is transitioning into the Martha underground mine in 2021. High grade gold-silver mineralisation occurs in narrow epithermal quartz-adularia veins. Mill capacity is 1.3Mt/a with a conventional SAG and ball mill and a CIP circuit and is expected to progressively expand through modifications to 1.6Mt/a between 2022 and 2026.
