Massawa gold mine project

Report summary

Ore at the Massawa project is expected to be treated under a variety of methods as refractory ore is present for at least 50% of the reserves. Mining will use conventional open pit methods at four pits; Massawa Central and North Zone, Sofia and Delya. Ultra-fine grinding as well as bio-oxidation (BIOX) treatment is expected to be included in the mill flow sheet to treat these types of ore. The circuit will also include free leaching material and all ore will be liberated through conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL). The new Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) proposed a mill capacity of 2.4Mt/a.
