The Moose River Project comprises the Touquoy and Beaver Dam deposits. Touquoy West is located 60km east-northeast of Halifax, Central Nova Scotia while Beaver Dam comprises 76 claims across approximately 569 hectares, located 22km east of Touquoy.
The Moose River project is planned as an open pit mining operation with conventional drill, blast and haul mining methods. Life of mine (LOM) is estimated at 9 years with initial production from Touquoy and then from Beaver Dam once Touquoy pit reserves are exhausted in year 5. The life of mine (LOM) stripping ratio is estimated at 3.73:1.
Based on the 2010 Definitive Feasibility study (DFS), total capital cost was estimated at C$$228 million, including C$123 million and C$81 million pre-production capital for Touquoy and Cochrane Hill respectively.
