Natalka gold mine project

Natalka gold mine project

Report summary

Natalka project is owned by Russian company Polyus Gold International and was being developed as a large scale, open pit operation utilising conventional drill and blast, truck and shovel mining methods. The proposed mine was to be the largest gold mine in Russia (10Mt/a of ore in 2015 with an increase up to 40Mt/a) with a life of 19 years.  A large reserve downgrade in late 2014 led to the project being put on hold.  Cost estimates have not been made for any potential smaller scale development.
