Northern Star Resources has agreed with Newmont to acquire the Jundee mine in Western Australia, for a total of US$91 million.  The deal follows the acquisition of Plutonic, Kanowna Belle/Kundana from Barrick at the beginning of the year for a total of A$100 million.  In the space of six months, Northern Star will have rocketed to Australia's fifth largest gold producer in 2014, and be the second largest gold producer listed locally on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), after Newcrest.
