Report summary

Jangada is a mid sized surface iron ore mine part of Vale's Paraopeba complex ultimately falling under Vale's Southern System. Mining at Jangada commenced in 2001 and Vale owns 100% of the mine through its subsidiary Minerações Brasileiras Reunidas S.A. (MBR).Vale is scaling back production at some of its less efficient higher cost mines in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero (QF) region as it switches output to more profitable operations. As a result Jangada's output will fall 2017.
