Report summary

By the end of 2017 China's Tsingshan Iron and Steel, under the banner of one of its holding groups, Shanghai Decent Investment (Group) Co. Ltd had invested more than US$3.4 billion in its integrated stainless and crude steel operation in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, known as the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP). The park currently contains 20 RKEF lines with a total nickel pig iron (NPI) capacity of 1.5Mt/a. There are plans for an additional six RKEF lines to be added to the park, with two of the six lines to be operating from 2020.
