Report summary

The refinery is located at White Pine, Michigan and has adequate road links. The Copper Range Co. started modern copper mining at White Pine in 1952 and in 1955 commissioned a reverberatory furnace smelter.  During the 1977 oil boom the company was purchased by the Louisiana Land and Exploration Co.  Contilanod anode casting, an Isa process tankhouse and shape casting facilities were added in 1981 at a cost of US$78M.  At commissioning the refinery had a capacity of 65kt/a cathode although...
