Report summary

Wuhan steel plant is located in Qingshan, Wuhan city, on the banks of the Yangtze River. More than 80% of Wuhan's products are flat products, including plate, hot/cold rolled strip and hot dipping galvanised strips for shipbuilding, automotive, pipeline and home appliances. Wuhan also produces wire rod, rail, sections and bar products for construction, railway and machinery applications. Wuhan is the largest silicon steel producer within China and is famous for its grain-orientated silicon steel. The plant's parent company, Wuhan Iron and Steel Co (WISCO), has a combined crude steel capacity of almost 38 Mtpa, with 18.7 Mtpa at its main Wuhan plant.
