Yauricocha mine is located in the Alis district, Yauyos province, department of Lima. It is an underground polymetallic mine that utilises sublevel block caving and cut-and-fill mining methods, which has been in continuous commercial production since 1948. Ore is processed by conventional crushing-grinding-flotation, with a single crushing stage and two parallel circuits used to treat the different ore types. The polymetallic ore circuit had a nominal capacity of 2,100tpd and the oxide ore circuit has a nominal capacity of 600tpd. Sierra Metals reported in the 2016 Annual Report that the Chumpe processing plant was soon to be permitted to produce 3,000tpd.
