Zinc and Lead mine projects: How competitive are they?
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The requirement for new mine supply will be 4.6Mt zinc by 2032. The most likely source will be from existing mine expansions and mine life extensions, however in the second half of the decade mine production would need to come from new greenfield projects. The additional supply requirement translates to an average 575kt/a of new production by 2040. For zinc mines, this is equivalent to the construction of three medium-sized mines every year. The insight will explore the characteristics, operating costs, capital intensity and long-term price incentive for mine projects covered by our zinc and lead mine cost analysis.
