China power markets long-term outlook H2 2015

Report summary

China's power demand ran into a perfect storm emerge through 2015.  Industrial overcapacity, a weak property market and growth in the services sector combined to reduce the pace of annual demand growth to only around 1%. China's government, state-run generating companies, and regulators are now working to complete the 13th Five Year Plan and we expect significant policy impacts around the power sector fuel mix, environmental targets, power tariff reform, and the outlook for coal and gas imports into the sector.
