With the projected demand growth averaging more than 7% to 2030, consistent and timely implementations is needed to alleviate power shortages in Indonesia. The Crash Build I program has helped Indonesia reduce the supply-demand gap in the power sector and to temporarily improve the security of supply. However, the Crash Build II program with 40% of the capacity targeted from geothermal plants is behind schedule and we have not seen backup options to replace these delayed units.
