Report summary

To meet the average annual power demand growth of over 6% until 2020 across Malaysia, around 9000 MW of power projects have been awarded for construction. Of this 2500 MW are gas-fired plants, 5000 MW are coal-fired plants and 1500 MW are hydro plants. Malaysia will need US$21 billion by 2020 just for power projects.
