Poland power markets long-term outlook 2017: coals grip weakens

Report summary

The domination of coal in Poland's power sector is weakening as EU emissions and liberalisation rules take their toll on the coal industry. In its place, gas, wind and possibly nuclear as set to make up the power deficit left by a decline in coal power. However, the switch to lower emission fuels could be too little too late as Poland are on track to miss their 2020 renewable power target.
