Portugal power markets long-term outlook H1 2014

Report summary

The Portuguese power supply mix is dominated by renewables, particularly hydro and onshore wind.  In 2012, over 44% of power generated in the country came from renewable sources, and we expect this share to rise to almost two thirds by 2030.  As in the Spanish market, the pre-recession period was one of significant expansion in Portugal, with power demand growing by around 24% between 2000 and 2008.
