Wind output proved volatile during the month of May as generators averaged approximately 20% utilization on May 4th and May 31st. Punctuating this weakness, there was nearly no wind generation anywhere east of the Rockies at times on May 4th. Despite weakness in May, demand has been about 7% stronger across the US through the first half of 2019 overall than for the same time period in 2018. In terms of capacity, 2018 was a slow year for new wind build, but we are expecting a huge bounce back in 2019.
