On 22-24 June 2021 Wood Mackenzie held its first ever Asia Pacific Power & Renewables Conference in virtual format. The conference shed light on global expectations for climate change action in key APAC markets, bringing together the leading solar companies, onshore and offshore wind developers, utilities, investment groups and regulatory bodies of these regions to address both the opportunities and challenges for a cleaner future. Day 3 focused on energy transition paths and renewables markets in China and Southeast Asia. The day kicked off with a discussion on which technologies are poised to win in China's march towards net-zero by 2060 and a panel on how China can reach its 1,200 GW wind and solar target by 2030. Next was a conversation about Southeast Asia as an emerging solar market led by BayWa and Shell. The day ended with a roundtable discussion from leading experts on the cost implications and willingness of companies to adopt climate change solutions.
