    • Refinery investments
    • There are several upgrading investments planned at existing refineries in India. Most of the upgrading investments are geared towards hydrotreating of diesel, gasoil, naphtha and catalytic cracker feed (a total of 345 kb/d), as investments in these facilities are made in association with residue upgrading units such as coking and residue catalytic cracking to ensure that the products meet the desired specifications. Coking is the most popular residue upgrading investment, with close to about 224 kb/d of new capacity during the period 2014 - 2020. Catalytic cracking and gasoline upgrading technologies (reforming, isomerisation and alkylation) account for about 157 kb/d and 106 kb/d respectively during this period.
