In 2014 demand for oil products in Lithuania was in decline after a brief upturn in 2012. In 2015, however, the demand saw a slight increase. In the next few years total oil consumption is expected to fall a long way short of the 3 Mt. Orlen Lietuva remained the only refiner in the Baltics and covered the majority of the country's requirements. Retail service station numbers decreased, due to new Lukoil divestments and new environmental legislation that leads to network consolidation, especially among the smaller independent sites. The dieselisation of the car parc means that we expect modest growth in the volume of diesel sold through the network, at the expense of gasoline.
