Neste Oil refining and oil products summary

Report summary

Neste Oil's traditional business has been oil refining and marketing around the Baltic Rim, but with recent investments in renewable fuels and base oils plants, its presence has been expanded to Asia and Middle East. Neste Oil became independent of Finnish energy company Fortum in April 2005 and is 50% owned by the Finnish government. Having divested its shipping fleet in 2013, Neste Oil is chiefly involved in crude and renewable oil refining and the marketing of oil products, including renewable fuels. The company's strong refining base and growing renewable fuel business is supported by a relatively small retail segment, hence it maintains a large overall oil product surplus.
