Commodity Market Report
Romania downstream oil long-term outlook
Report summary
The Romanian retail market is dominated by four players: the three domestic refiners and the Hungarian oil company MOL. As overall retail fuel demand is set to begin to decline in the 2020s, companies have been making efforts to improve their non-fuel offerings. Although vehicle electrification lags other countries in the EU, the Romanian government has introduced generous purchase incentives for EVs through its Rabla scrappage scheme.
