Although the Slovakian oil products market is fully liberalised, it remains dominated by Slovnaft, which has been a wholly-owned affiliate of MOL since 2000. Slovnaft is the country’s sole refiner with a great deal of influence over the internal wholesale market for petroleum products. Slovakia is a surplus market, exporting 70% of domestically refined products. OMV, Eni and Shell also compete in the Slovakian fuels market, relying on supply from MOL and imports. In Aug 2014, Norm Benzinkut Kft acquired LUKOIL's Slovakian service station network. In July 2015, MOL's acquisition of Eni's fuels marketing business was finalised.
