Spain downstream oil long-term outlook 2016

Spain downstream oil long-term outlook 2016

Report summary

Oil demand in Spain is expected to continue its recovery over the next few years, mostly in transport fuels, before gradually declining over the longer term as the mature economy stabilises and oil intensity declines. A number of important Spanish refinery investment projects were completed in recent years, aimed at addressing Iberia's structural middle distillate deficit and fuel oil surplus by boosting diesel yields. Repsol, BP and Galp reduced their retail networks in 2015 whereas Cepsa, the hypermarkets and cooperatives expanded.
