Report summary
Statoil is a predominately state-owned upstream oil and gas business whose overall strategy is to realise the full value potential from its oil fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, which typically generates the greatest share of group earnings. Since divesting its 'Fuel & Retail' business in 2012, Statoil's downstream operations consist of its two European refineries - Kalundborg and Mongstad - and an integrated trading arm.
