Tamoil is the brand name of the Libyan-backed Oilinvest B.V. which was established by the Libyan State to invest in downstream assets in Europe. Within the three years following its creation in 1988, the group built a portfolio of activities through the acquisition of various refining and marketing assets across Europe. Its business has evolved around three major national hubs and each of these operates in a semi-autonomous manner and all have developed their own strategies
