Report summary

Ukraine's total oil product demand has declined every year since 2007. The economy was battered by the global economic crisis, and post-recession economic recovery was short-lived; as political tensions and civil conflict escalated in 2013 and 2014, the economy contracted once more. Domestic refinery production has reached historic low levels and the country is increasingly dependant on oil product imports to meet demand, especially for gasoline and diesel/gasoil. Having previously sold its Odessa refinery to Vetek in 2012, LUKOIL exited the Ukrainian fuels market in 2014, selling the business to AMIC Energy Management.
